Harrisburg, PA – For the first time in its 77-year history, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show will expand to 11 days in 2023, running October 12-22 at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA.
The addition of an extra day to the formerly 10-day event will allow for the growth of the Penn National Children’s and Adult Hunter Championships and the Penn National Children’s, Adult, Low Junior and Low Amateur Jumper Championships, to be held Friday, October 20 through Sunday, October 22.
With these divisions now included in the US Equestrian national point standings, qualifying for all Children’s, Adult, Low Junior and Low Amateur classes at the PNHS will be based on horses’ national rankings as of August 13, 2023, with the qualifying period beginning August 15, 2022. The rankings will utilize the best points or money won, per GR915.3(1), at no more than 15 horse shows during this time period.
The following Children’s, Adult, Low Junior and Low Amateur hunter/jumper divisions, with $10,000 finals for
each division, will be offered at the 2023 PNHS:
- Children’s Hunter 14 & Under
- Children’s Hunter 15-17
- Adult Amateur Hunter 18-35
- Adult Amateur Hunter 36-49
- Adult Amateur Hunter 50 & Over
- Children’s Jumpers
- Adult Jumpers
- Low Junior Jumpers
- Low Amateur Jumpers
In addition to the Penn National Championships, the final weekend of the 2023 PNHS will feature the USEF/National Collegiate Equestrian Association Hunt Seat Medal Final – East.
