Following a successful inaugural year in 2025, the USHJA Amateur Hunter Championships – West, presented by Frank & Eileen, will return to Desert International Horse Park this October 28 – November 1 during National Sunshine Series 1!
This year’s championships will feature:
✅ fun and camaraderie with fellow amateurs!
✅ separate championships for the 2’6″ Low Adults, 3′ Adult Amateurs, 3’3″ Amateur Owners and 3’6″ Amateur Owners.
✅ a three-phase format where the highest overall score will earn the championship.
1. Under Saddle (20% of score)
2. Classic Round (40% of score)
3. Handy Round (40% of score)
✅ an all-new American Quarter Horse High Score Award.
This is more than a championship. It is a celebration of the dedication, sportsmanship and passion that define the amateur hunter community, and we cannot wait to welcome you to Greater Palm Springs for an unforgettable week!


Entries for the USHJA Amateur Hunter Championships – West will open on August 15, in conjunction with all National Sunshine Series entries, and qualifying for the championships will continue through September 20, 2026.
