Harrisburg, PA – Following two days of intense competition for junior hunters at the 76th annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show, Isabelle Ehman and San Pedro 15 emerged victorious as the Grand Junior Hunter Champions, sponsored by Ox Ridge.

Ehman swept the competition in the Large Junior Hunter 3’6” – 15 and Under division after piloting San Pedro 15, owned by Don Stewart, to the top position in two of three over-fences classes and securing second place in the under saddle.

“I can’t believe this; it’s crazy,” said Ehman. “I came this week with no expectations of winning considering this is only [San Pedro’s] second indoors and my first time doing the Junior Hunter 3’6” division finals. I really just wanted to lay down a few nice rounds and have a good experience.”

Ehman and San Pedro 15’s performance earned them the Ovation Perpetual Trophy, donated by Dr. Betsee Parker. The duo was then also named the recipient of the PNHS High Point Large Junior Hunter Trophy.

Much to Ehman’s surprise, she added the title of Pennsylvania National Horse Show Junior Hunter Rider 3’6” Sportsmanship Award recipient to her achievements of the day..

“The sportsmanship award means a lot to me,” Ehman enthused. “I always try to put my best foot forward and to be in a good mood, but I don’t ever expect to be rewarded for it. It means a lot that it’s been noticed.”

San Pedro 15’s performance also earned groom Jose Cruz the Junior Hunter Grand Championship Grooms Award, sponsored by the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation; trainer and owner Don Stewart accepted the Grand Junior Hunter Trainer’s Award as well as the Michael Rheinheimer Memorial Perpetual Trophy, donated by Amanda Lyerly.
