Ocala, FL – “Show Strides: Testing Friendships,” written by Rennie Dyball and Piper Klemm, was named the Winnie Award winner for best adult equestrian literature during the 2021 EQUUS Film & Arts Fest, held virtually on November 29.
Written with both young readers and adult horse lovers in mind, “Testing Friendships” is the fourth book in the popular Show Strides series of novels about riding, horse shows, and enjoying and succeeding with horses.
“Awards such as this one and the positive feedback we get from our readers offer great encouragement as we continue to expand the series, and I highly appreciate all of the EQUUS Film & Arts Fest team’s work to get equestrian film, art, and literature in front of more people,” said Klemm. “The Winnie Awards recognize the best in those three areas, so it’s an honor to see Show Strides among this year’s winners.”
Inside the pages of the Show Strides books, readers will meet the riders of Quince Oaks, including Tally, a dedicated working student who takes lessons on the stable’s fleet of school horses, and Mac, a young rider pushing herself to improve on her own pony hunter.
In “Testing Friendships,” an eventful summer is drawing to a close and the Quince Oaks riders are focused on their goals for the fall. Tally gets the ride on her first project horse, Mac looks to build on her success from Pony Finals, and a newcomer, Maggie, joins the team as she looks for a horse or pony of her own. Then, one moment of carelessness in the ring changes everything for all three girls.
