October 23, 2026 — The Plains, Va. — As Taylor, Harris Insurance Services approaches its 40th anniversary on April 1, 2027, the family-owned equine insurance agency is building on its four decades of experience with continued investment in its leadership, team, insurance market relationships and the equestrian community.
Michael Taylor founded THIS in 1987. He and his then business partners started the business with $25,000 of personal savings and an electric typewriter. In the nearly 40 years since, his guidance has shaped THIS into a leading equine insurance agency serving clients across the sport.
As THIS continues to grow, Michael Taylor will now serve as Chairman, remaining actively involved in the agency’s relationships with underwriting markets, its Board and the equestrian community.
Luke Taylor, who has led day-to-day operations for the past five years, will serve as Managing Director, formalizing his existing role in guiding the agency’s operations and continued development.

An Experienced Leadership Team, Already in Place
The agency’s leadership team brings extensive experience across operations, client service, agent support and marketing.
Janet Jolliff serves as Office Director, leading the client service team in what is now her 25th year with THIS. Evie Dutton has led the field agents and marketing efforts for the past year and a half as Marketing Director, supporting the agency’s relationships with its agents, clients and the broader equestrian community.
The office team has also expanded with the addition of Meredith Christiansen and Courtney Lloyd, bringing the central office staff to seven, including Jolliff.
Together, they bring more than 64 years of combined experience at THIS. The agency also works with 35 field agents, serving clients throughout the equestrian industry.
