Thermal, CA – February 23, 2025 – At this time last year, Camryn Chalmers had just acquired Feeling de Pleville, and now, a year later, the duo is accomplishing major goals together. For Chalmers, one of those goals is competing at the 2025 FEI Jumping North American Youth Championships, and she got one step closer on Sunday, February 23.
Chalmers and Feeling de Pleville produced the only clear round in the $20,000 North American Young Rider Championship Trial 1.45m, sponsored by the Ullman Group, to take home the win and to earn points toward being selected as part of the Zone 10 Young Rider team for 2025.

Finishing in second place were Emmeline Adamick and Andys’boy Bretoniere, and Talise Baker-Matsuoka and Levisto Junior A Z took home third place.
“It definitely was a challenging course. That was big!” said Chalmers of the track that course designer Alan Wade set for the trial. “The oxers were wide. The turns were tight, but I knew that [Feeling de Pleville] had it. I felt a sense of peace and confidence going in and I was like, ‘We’re here because we love horses. I’m doing this because I love this animal. I was like, ‘You know what? We’re going to go out there and have fun!’”

In speaking of the 10-year-old Selle Francais mare, “Feeling,” Chalmers continued, “I really appreciate her confidence and how she always just wants to get to the other side. She loves to win, and she’s a great competitor.”
In the $5,000 North American Pre-Junior Championship, sponsored by KASK, the victory went to Kennedy Chang and Starfly. The pair were one of five entries to jump a clear first round and the only duo to jump double clear.

“Starfly has just been my heart horse ever since I’ve had her,” said Chang of the 12-year-old Anglo European mare that she has had for two years. “I started in the 1.10m with her, and she’s brought me all the way up. She’s such a cool horse. She has so much heart and so much scope. She really just wants to do the job, and she wants to win. I couldn’t ask for a better partner.”
In the final Zone 10 trial class of the week at Desert Circuit 7, the $2,000 North American Children’s Championship Trial Classic, the win went to Olivia Wright and Happyfee.
