Thermal, CA – February 21, 2025 – Jessica Gleason and Source Code are becoming rather well acquainted with leading victory gallops in the Desert International Horse Park’s Grand Prix Arena. On Friday, February 21, they did so for the fourth occasion already this Desert Circuit, this time after topping the $24,999 Marshall + Sterling Insurance 1.40m Open Classic.
“I know I’ve said that a million times, but every day he goes out there and fights harder and tries harder,” said Gleason of her 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. “He wants to learn how to do this, and he wants to be competitive. He felt a little bright out there today, but I liked it. He was taking me down to the jumps. He was soaring. He wanted to be fast today, and he did it!”
Gleason and Source Code were the 49th of 59 entries to take on the Alan Wade-designed track at Desert Circuit 7, and until that point, Conor Swail and My Lady Lavista had held the lead for 25 trips with a time of 66.902 seconds.

With a few extra tidy turns however, Gleason was able to shave more than a second off Swail’s time, stopping the clock in 65.698 seconds. Gleason’s time would ultimately hold up for the win, while Mariano Maggi and Quantico 23 narrowly edged out Swail for second place with a time of 66.446 seconds.
Gleason has owned Source Code for roughly two years, and while she feels that he was a competitive partner straight out of the gate, she also finds that he continues to come into his own.
“At the BRAINJUICE [jump], he jumped me out of the tack,” said Gleason. “I was like, ‘There we go! Now the scope and the power are really starting to come, and I can see the future with him.’”
