Alexis Rumford's winning oil painting

July 24, 2024 – Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania National Horse Show team is pleased to announce Alexis Rumford of Ligonier, PA, as the winner of the 2024 PNHS Poster and Program Art Contest.

Rumford’s original oil painting met the judging criteria for quality of design and unique representation of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.

Of her 8.5” x 11” piece, Rumford wrote: “[It] was inspired by the beauty that is the Pennsylvania National. I wanted this piece to be simple and timeless, yet colorful and eye-catching just like the horses and riders that participate at this world-renowned event. The reference photo used to create this piece I took myself. I hope that all that review this piece enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

As the winning entry, Rumford will receive a $1,000 cash prize, and her artwork will be showcased on the cover of the 2024 show program and on the official poster, both available for purchase at the PNHS merchandise booths at the 2024 show. Attendees can also watch for artist poster signings during Champions Week at the PNHS, with this year’s show running October 10-20 at the PA Farm Show Complex.

With many incredible entries, judging deliberations were made quite difficult. Receiving honorable mention recognition, including cash prizes or gift certificates toward PNHS merchandise, are Tori Bilas, Madison Quizzero, Brittany Takata and last year’s winner Susan DiFelice.
