Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania National Horse Show (PNHS) is best known for its 10 days of top-caliber competition, held each October at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA, but it’s the PNHS Foundation that is the heart of the event – and what makes it so much more than ‘just a horse show.’
Established in 1999 and dedicated to “Enriching Lives Through Equestrian Sport,” the PNHS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports equine rescue and therapeutic riding programs, with annual Foundation grants providing scholarships for students in need, care for therapy horses, equipment for horses and riders and much more.
Earlier this year, the PNHS Foundation provided grant funding to 31 equine programs, and following the success of the 2022 PNHS, the organization is on track to exceed its previous funding allocations when grants are awarded this winter.
“[The PNHS Foundation’s] generosity is greatly appreciated,” Jennifer Hitz, Chief Development Officer of Leg Up Farm, said previously. “We continue to work hard every day to meet the demand from our community for quality, comprehensive, therapeutic programs and services. We could not provide these services without the support received from the PNHS Foundation and other generous friends and neighbors.”
In addition to supporting equine non-profits throughout the country, the PNHS Foundation hosts the LifeVac Therapeutic Riding Championships each year on “Foundation Friday” during the horse show.
Gifts made to the Foundation this Giving Tuesday will go directly toward funding grants for 2022-2023. To make a contribution today, click here, and to learn more, visit www.PAnational.org.
